U.S. Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) is one of the most influential Members of Congress and was the person Sean worked for during his time in Washington. In his capacity in the Senate, Mr Grassley has served as Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee where he was a principal author of the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit and he was also a lead negotiator for health reform before it took a partisan turn. As the Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee during the passage of the Affordable Care Act he was a lead negotiator of the law and knows it well. He also is close friends with Senator Baucus (D-MT) who was his partner on the Committee and recently made headlines for suggesting implementation of the law is a train wreck. Mr. Grassley joined Sean McGuire on America’s Healthcare Challenge.
