AHC Deadline Week

An episode of America’s Healthcare Challenge for the ages.  Not only did the self-imposed deadline implemented by the Obama Administration come and go without real answers, there is more information coming out from individual states having their own troubles enrolling.  The Oregon exchange enrolled around 240 people and their administrator has taken a leave of absence.  Could their federal counterparts soon follow?

AHC 12 Days of ObamaCare

We are within the 12 days of Christmas and Congress returned to cut a surprising budget deal.  Music to our ears, however, we still lose nearly a trillion a year, and the healthcare reform law will add more spending over time.  Meanwhile the executive branch continues to experience challenges, but the website has seen improvement, and enrollment numbers in the federal exchange are around 360,000 with a long ways to go.  On this week’s show all of those subjects are covered and another U.S. Senate candidate, a few calls and laughs, along with plenty more premium information on the Affordable Care Act.

ACA Stabilization Period

The two officials in charge of implementing the most important parts of the Affordable Care Act appeared on Capitol Hill today for a hearing in front of the House Ways and Means Committee. Republicans called it “oversight” while one Democrat referred to it as an “inquisition.” The House is clearly partisan but there was important information covered.  Congress will be taking five weeks off to go back to their constituents and leaving only 12 real legislative days before open enrollment begins.  Will they be in for another round of “town hell” meetings like in 2009?
